What is Juvederm® Ultra XC?
Juvederm Ultra XC is a dermal filler specifically designed to enhance lip volume and smooth lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Juvederm Ultra XC is made up of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a natural substance in the body that gives our skin volume, elasticity and moisture to achieve a more youthful appearance.
As a HA dermal filler especially designed for volume loss, Juvederm Ultra XC is comprised of smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than other Juvederm® products. These small HA particles are what give skin its smoother texture. Juvederm Ultra XC composition reduces fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and gives lips added volume that is subtle and natural looking.

What results can I expect from Juvederm® Ultra XC?
Results from Juvederm Ultra XC are often noticeable immediately. While the full results typically become more pronounced within a few days to a couple of weeks as any initial swelling subsides. This means that you can enjoy the rejuvenating effects of Juvederm Ultra XC shortly after your treatment.
The number of Juvederm Ultra XC treatments required will depend on your goals and the extent of correction needed. Many patients achieve satisfying results with just one treatment session, while others may opt for additional sessions for more pronounced effects.
Juvederm Ultra XC typically lasts for up to 12 months, depending on individual responses. Patients are able to maintain their desired results by undergoing periodic treatments.
What is it like to get a Juvederm® Ultra XC treatment?
Prior to your Juvederm Ultra XC treatment, the area to be treated will be cleaned with an antiseptic skin cleaner before an ultra-fine needle is used to inject a precise amount of product strategically beneath the skin.
To reduce discomfort, a topical numbing agent may be applied to the treatment area. However, since Juvederm Ultra XC contains lidocaine, you’ll experience minimal discomfort during treatment. The treatment typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area being treated. Some patients may experience swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites, but these effects are temporary and typically subside within a few days to a week.
